French Skipping

I was skipping passionately. On the schoolyard, at home, with friends, with chair-legs, with senile beat-up elastics, with begged-from-mums elastics, bathtub, jelly-pudding and more I don’t remember how it was named. Why didn’t boys play that? And does anybody play it these days?
