Drusator – Nice here, but have you ever been in Herz Jesu?

Karla’s knee had recovered quite well, and she felt fit enough to do a day hike up to the Drusator. These are the data Mapy provides for it. For me, it was very enjoyable because we got back into my beloved scree! But first, we went through some vegetation. The peaks up there are called the Three Towers, and quite a few people had climbed them. It seems to be a fairly manageable hike.

Alpe

Near the hut, there is an alpine pasture, which can be seen here. It’s quite large, and we saw (and heard) many, many cows. To mention it in advance before I forget: the next day we saw a cow rolling down the slope. I always thought they were completely steady on their feet!

We had plenty of time, light backpacks, and therefore took frequent breaks. I found the trail beautiful, and it wasn’t crowded at all.

The Drusator is a pass right on the Austria/Switzerland border. And on the border post, there was this sticker (german language of the title):

You could see many amazing rocks there and even peek into Switzerland. The terrain was a bit gentler and quite pretty. There would normally have been a hut within a good distance, but it was closed for renovations.

Karla wore a knee brace, which worked well for her, and she still felt full of energy, so she hiked back in a large loop. I stayed on the beautiful pass for a while longer before starting my descent.

Shadows

There had been some wind and occasional shade throughout the day, so I was actually quite satisfied with it, despite having relatively few photos.

Karla arrived quite late, and I was a bit worried, but someone else had seen her, so I only had to wait a little longer than I had expected. She was also very happy to have taken this route. I find it very pleasant when you can separate for a while.

The cold shower was again great, and dinner was excellent. We had also rearranged plans for the next day, but managed to avoid cancellation fees. Where we were heading next? See the next blog post!
