E: … there were school festivities with sporting competitons as every year. Running and junping were fine with me, but throwing ball I was not at all good. As a reward we got a lollipop and dressed nicely.
 

N: … I went for carnival as pirate. My mother always tailored the carnival-dresses herself and we children were very proud of that. I also had costumes for Indian-Squaw (but that was itching) and witch and the others I don’t remember.
