E: … the war came to an end, but I didn’t realise much of it. My father was too old to be a soldier (he was in the 1. world war) and we lived in Sasel quite far from downtown Hamburg.

N: … the americans have been flying to the moon. That was shown in TV. We had ours not so long yet. It was in the living room and the adults very excited. I wasn’t much interested in it, but found it strange how they all stared on the screen.
